False Calm, True Liberation


When life is marked by chaos, it can feel natural and necessary to recreate distress as a way of feeling steady or in control. Yet this false calm only deepens the captivity of fear. Liberation invites us to recognize these patterns and choose a different path. True freedom is not found only in resistance or struggle but also in the quiet strength of stillness and the grounding presence of peace. To embrace stillness is to claim a deeper, steadier form of liberation that chaos cannot take away.

It is sobering to realize how often we may confuse chaos with stability. Sometimes we cling to distress because it feels more predictable than calm. Yet, liberation invites us to recognize that creating anxiety for ourselves or others does not lead to freedom; it only deepens captivity. The real challenge is learning to trust stillness, to welcome steadiness, and to rest in peace without fear. Liberation is as much about unlearning old survival patterns as it is about creating new ways of being.

Liberating Spirit, free me from the illusion of control that thrives in chaos. Quiet the fears that drive me to create distress, and open me to the strength of stillness. Teach me to trust peace as a sacred gift, not a threat. Anchor me in Your calm, steady presence, and let my life bear witness to liberation that is both struggle and rest, both resistance and peace.
